Could exosuit force on the thighs increase risk of injury to this area of the body?

Less Force Applied to Each Leg

The force on the thighs is:

  1. Far below the comfort thresholds we have measured in the lab (Yandell et al. 2020) and
  2. Far below forces that damage skin or other biological tissues.

The Apex 2 applies forces similar to (or potentially less than) forces applied by a person's elbows when they brace their elbows on their knees (e.g., during sustained bending). A person's muscles typically apply over 1500 N of force (200% body weight) on the thighs/knees during lifting (orthoload.com); whereas the Apex applies forces less than 150 N (20% body weight) to each leg.
